If you’ve ever admired the principles and objectives of balanced literacy instruction but have not yet fully utilized them in the classroom, the Accelerating Literacy (AL) Teacher Training Program will show you how.

            The AL training brings the strategies and theories behind balanced instruction together into a manageable and easily understood presentation. It provides the framework for coordinating important pieces of the “literacy puzzle”: new adoption, core literature, trade books, phonics, assessment, spelling, and more.

            The AL training provides teachers and administrators with vital information about how to teach all students to read and write.

  Coaches • For those mentor teachers who want to assist others in implementing AL, this is a two-day program that shows how “coaches” can work at both the district level and on-site at schools to achieve their literacy goals.

   District Trainers • In just seven days, any AL teacher can become a district trainer and provide ongoing support and supplemental training to colleagues. Once they complete this course, District Trainers are qualified to conduct the three-day training for teachers in their own district. A district with trainers who have achieved this level has created a self-sustaining literacy program.
