The ELI Training Program for Tutors
   Teachers are trained to plan effective tutoring sessions, accurately assess students’ reading stages, administer oral reading records, and make decisions that maximize reading and writing instruction. Teachers are provided with coaching and implementation support as they meet the challenges of teaching at-risk students.
     As teachers learn to implement Early Literacy Intervention® (ELI), they also learn how to transfer their knowledge to small- and whole-group classroom instruction. ELI works in partnership to complement and enhance the core classroom program, Accelerating Literacy® (AL). ELI training is ideal for specialist, kindergarten, and first-grade teachers who daily assist students in developing print awareness, emergent literacy skills, and reading proficiency.

A Complete Course of Instruction to Produce
1 Teachers,  2 Coaches, and  3 District Trainers
for Schools Committed to Early Literacy Intervention

TUTORS • To help teachers identify the kids who need ELI and start the tutoring process, the tutor training begins with a three-day base course, and then follows up with six after-school training sessions and six on-site coaching sessions to help tutors as they work with students.

COACHES • For those mentor teachers who want to assist others in implementing the ELI program, this is a one-day conference followed up with additional opportunities to meet and learn from other coaches.

 
DISTRICT TRAINers • After teachers have completed a year of active tutoring in the Early Literacy Intervention® program, they are eligible for the four-day trainer program, wherein they’ll learn to conduct the three-day training for teachers in their district. 
 In addition to instruction, District Trainers receive the following “trainer package,”
which is licensed to them along with the 
right to train 10 teachers in ELI:
• Two trainer boxes
• Demonstration videos
• Transparencies and
• many additional materials
• License may be renewed!
License COST to Train 10 TEACHERS: $3480!
